Polar Europe – The Snow Specialist Since 1996

Polar Europe was founded in 1996 by Michiel de Ruiter – a former top athlete with an impressive career in the international freestyle skiing world. Michiel began as a trampoline gymnast and became Dutch national champion several times. His athletic career took a new turn when he switched to freestyle skiing, in particular the spectacular discipline of aerials, where athletes perform multiple flips and twists. With major successes to his name, including winning a European Cup and competing at the Olympic Games in Albertville (1992) and Lillehammer (1994), Michiel developed a profound passion for snow. This love for winter sports and snow ultimately led to the founding of Polar Europe.

INNOVATION IN SNOW PRODUCTION

During his athletic career, Michiel came into contact with an innovative cryogenic snow system that made it possible to produce snow at positive temperatures. Fascinated by this technology, he fully dedicated himself to further developing the system. Since then, Polar Europe has grown into the specialist in CRYOGENIC SNOW, with a technology that is unrivaled worldwide.

We produce real snow by combining a mixture of air, water, and liquid nitrogen in a semi-enclosed space – the so-called snow-making tent. This allows us to create high-quality snow at any location, under all climate conditions. Our snow is dry, fine in texture, and particularly suitable for both sports applications and events. With a capacity of more than 50 m³ per hour, we deliver snow quickly and with top quality.

INNOVATIE IN SNEEUWPRODUCTIE

Tijdens zijn sportieve loopbaan kwam Michiel in aanraking met een innovatief cryogeen sneeuwsysteem dat het mogelijk maakt om sneeuw te produceren bij positieve temperaturen. Gefascineerd door deze technologie stortte hij zich volledig op de doorontwikkeling van het systeem. Polar Europe is sindsdien uitgegroeid tot dé specialist in CRYOGENE SNEEUW, met een techniek die wereldwijd ongeëvenaard is.

Wij produceren échte sneeuw door een mengsel van lucht, water en vloeibare stikstof in een semi-afgesloten ruimte – de zogenaamde sneeuwmaaktent – te combineren. Zo kunnen we op elke locatie, in praktisch alle omstandigheden, hoogwaardige sneeuw maken. Onze sneeuw is droog, fijn van structuur, en bijzonder geschikt voor zowel sportieve toepassingen als evenementen. Met een capaciteit van meer dan 50 m³ per uur leveren wij snel én in topkwaliteit.
